Facing a challenge at a young age can be really hard to accept and overcome. There were times where I thought my biological mother leaving was my fault and made me question whether there was something wrong with varsity tutors college scholarship contest. However, I knew it would only set me back in the long run if I did not face my fears.


Being able to express my feelings with others has helped me face my trauma head on and see the light at the other end of the spectrum. Growing up, I found it helpful to find the positive attributes that set me apart from everyone else rather than focusing on the negatives. One of those attributes is my strong sense of self-worth. Because of my experiences, I focus on surrounding myself with people who truly care about me and those who look out for my best interests.
